It spreads by rhizomes to create an attractive round colony. Once settled, the yellow star-shaped flowers rise on a stalk above the foliage in a long-lasting show, possibly from spring through summer. The bloom period has a summer dormant period in hot interior gardens, but can then re-bloom in the fall into winter.
