An evergreen woody shrub, it grows rapidly to 3' or more in height and and 3-4' in width. Young plants have small grey-green elliptical leaves. Flowering begins in spring and continues periodically throughout the summer. The flowers are unique, first appearing a bright yellow, developing to a rusty orange color.
