The African daisy is well-suited for covering large open areas of level or sloping ground.  They requires little attention and are rarely invaded by pests or diseases.  African daisies grow best in rich soil and full sun, and established plants tolerate drought.  The plant spreads rapidly by means of long, trailing stems that root where they touch the ground.

Light: Full Sun or Partial Sun
Size: Grows 12 - 24 inches in height with a spread of 12 - 36 inches.   
Soil: African Daisies do best in rich, well-drained soil.
Water: Although somewhat drought tolerant once established, African daisies still need at least 1 inch of water per week to grow their best. During periods of drought or intense heat, the plants will slow down and go dormant.
Bloom: Showy daisy-like flowers are produced over a long period from late spring into summer and beyond. They often close at night or at low light intensity.
Other notes: African daisies seem not to be disturbed by salt-laden winds, making them very good for seaside gardens.  African Daisies attract beneficial insects, bees and butterflies.
Uses: Mixed flower borders and beds, cottage and other informal gardens, Mediterranean planting schemes and gravel gardens.
