Viola cornuta - 'Back to Black' Violas

Violas are a fabulous way to bring deep, rich color to winter gardens. A perennial, it will thrive in both beds and containers of all sizes. This variety features compact plants with 3/4 inch flowers of the deepest purple, so dark that they can appear black. The golden centers twinkle out dramatically. These flowers are regularly used to garnish desserts. Right when summer blooms have faded in their last hurrah, violas can take over the job. In our climate, they should bloom all winter long and in the early spring again.

Other Uses/ Notes: Violas bring color to the garden after summer blooms fade. They can serve as ground cover for areas of bulbs. They are often used for culinary garnishes, especially with desserts. They are deer resistant, and will reseed. In gorgeous condition right now!
