Arctostaphylos montereyensis, known as Monterey and Toro Manzanita, is an upright growing shrub growing in the sandy soil of the maritime chaparral plant community at Fort Ord and Toro Park.  This manzanita has dark green smooth edged ovate leaves on bristly hairy twigs and urn-shaped clusters of with to pink flowers.

Bloom: Flowers in Winnter to Spring.  White to pink cluster that produce stone-free white berry clusters.
