Ceanothus thyrsiflorus var. griseus 'Carmel Creeper', previously known as Ceanothus griseus var. horizontalis,, is endemic to our Central Coast, and as its name suggest is a low growing, spreading form.  This evergreen ceanothus has deep green leaves with distinctive ribbing and dense small blue to purple flowers that bloom on small thick stalks. This is an important wildlife food source in mid-winter through early spring.
