Consolida ajacis-Singing the Blues Larkspur

This tall, 3'-4', annual has spikes with numerous, densely packed, 1 to 1.5 inch double flowers in shades from white, white blushed with blue to royal blue.   They prefers full sun and blooms in the cooler weather of late spring and early summer but can continue blooming into fall in cooler areas with deadheading.  As the plants are tall and slender, planting close together or with a support can help them stay upright.  The plants are deer and rabbit resistant, can self seed and make beautiful cut flowers.  Stems can be cut for dried flowers as well.  Note:  All parts of the plant are toxic  

Annual which readily self seeds

Size: 3 to 4 feet tall and 8 to 12 inches wide
Light: Full sun 
Soil: Well-drained, loamy soil
Water:  Prefers consistently moist but not wet soil 
Bloom:  Spring and summer 
Other Notes:  A cottage garden favorite.  Attracts pollinators.
Uses:  Deer and rabbit resistant
