Crassula perforata - String of Buttons

Lovely 'spiller' succulent with blue-green maroon-edged foliage of stacked alternate pairs of leaves. Horizontal stems happily send out adventitious roots.  An attractive contrast in both texture an color for the container or rock garden. Indoor or outdoor. Tends to look dry on top at times, so side view is often best, but seasonally fills in at top as shown below, especially after tips are lightly pruned after blossoms fade.

Note: We have 2 cultivars this season: 'String of Buttons' and the more upright 'Variegated String of Buttons'. Variegated cultivars tend to grow more slowly.

Size: to 12"w x 12"h
Light: part shade, strong bright light, but protect from midday sun
Soil: Well-drained.
Water:  Allow to dry between waterings. Drought tolerant
Bloom: pale yellow to white, attractive diminutive hanging flower stalks in early summer to early fall.
Uses: container, rock-garden, indoor
