Cucurbita pepo - Lunchlady Gourds

A new product this year from Renee’s Garden seeds, this is an outstanding alternative to the water-needy pumpkins, for a fun early fall product. Lunchlady gourds are brightly-colored orange, yellow and red-gold; and are oblong in shape and warted in texture. The vigorous climbing vines are strong and support heavy fruits on a fence or a sturdy trellis. Gourds range from 18-22 inches long and 10-12 inches at base diameter. Unlike other cucurbita pepos, however, they are not edible. Trellising is highly recommended.
