Salvia 'Anthony Parker' is a cultivar that is presumed to be a cross between Salvia leucantha 'Midnight' and Salvia elegans 'Pineapple Sage'. The purple flowers are semi-tubular and most calyces remain on the plant all winter, which adds a mass of purple to gardens during colder months. The leaves are slightly hairy and lanceolate shape, and grow densely along the stem. In early spring, the new leaves are a lovely lime green, right photo. This salvia is a mid-height shrub addition to a waterwise, pollinator-friendly garden.

Soil: Rich, well-composted soil (side dress in the spring with compost)
Water: Average to low, and drought tolerant once established
Bloom: Long Blue-Violet blooms, a late bloomer (July - November)
Other Notes and Uses: This salvia is an excellent extender for nectar sources in pollinator gardens, as a late bloomer. Excellent for Hummingbird Gardens, Salvia Gardens, Naturalized Gardens and Cottage Gardens. This plant propagates most easily from cuttings taken in the winter.
