Green Lavender Cotton Santolina grows in a tidy, neat mound with attractive bright green fragrant foliage and a showy display of yellow button flowers on wiry stems. The summer bloom is showy. This plant has a moderate growth rate, and should be pruned annually. It's drought and heat-tolerant, and well-suited to our local zones.

Type: Evergreen Shrub

Size: Grows to 2 feet tall and just a bit over that in width

Light: Full sun 

Soil: Loose soil, good drainage and avoidance of overly wet soil.

Water: Moderate first year, to establish roots. Very low afterwards.
Bloom: Summer bloom; yellow button flowers in profusion

Other Notes and Uses: Green Lavender Cotton works well as an effective ground cover, or edging for walks and borders. It makes an excellent foreground plant for herb gardens, too.
