Crassula ovata - 'Hobbit'

Pot size: 1 gallon

Carefree and forgiving 'Hobbit' is mutation of the familiar Jade Plant, albeit more compact. They like plenty of light, but little water and are versatile for planting in the ground, container or even as bonsai.  The leaves are very thick, spoon-shaped and shiny  green, with seasonally red tips. We have two varieties this season: "Gollum" and "Hobbit" (pictured here), each in their own posting. Hobbit has wider spoon-shaped leaves. Genus Crassula can show tiny white or black dots on their leaves. These are healthy, water-transferring pores called "hydathodes" and not a sign of disease. Ready for transplantation!

Light: full sun to part shade inland
Soil: Well-drained.
Water:  Allow to dry between waterings.
