Carefree and forgiving, 'Gollum' is a mutation of the familiar Jade Plant and just as easy, albeit more compact. They like plenty of light, but little water are versatile for planting in the ground, container, or even as bonsai. The leaves are tubular thick shiny green, with seasonally red tips. We have two varieties of C. ovata this season: "Hobbit" and "Gollum", each in their own posting, but shown here for comparison. Hobbit has wider spoon-shaped leaves. Genus Crassulacan show tiny white or black dots on their leaves. These are healthy, water-transferring pores called "hydathodes" and not a sign of disease.
