Echeveria compressicaulis is a rich dark brown species with thick, fleshy leaves. It takes on very deep-red colours under strong light. Rather than growing low like most Echeverias, this one grows slightly upward and offsets along the stem, rather than just at the base. Individual leaves will root readily, forming a nice colony.
