Echinacea purpurea - 'Alan's Pride' Green Coneflower

Echinacea is a long-blooming, drought-tolerant plant that serves as a magnet to bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. This variety was developed in Japan, and sports a lime green color that blooms in its first year!  As the central gold-green cone enlarges (filling with seeds), the petals begin to droop. They flower in late summer through winter, and are often used for cut flowers. 'Alan's Pride' grow to just over two feet tall, and are highly attractive to pollinators. Echinacea are also resistant to deer. 

Flowering Evergreen Perennial
Size: Grows 1-2 feet in height with a spread of 18 inches.     
Light: Full Sun  
Soil: Well-drained; prefers average to humus-rich soil 
Water: Low water requirement (careful to not over-water while establishing)
Bloom: Blooms in mid to late Summer through Winter; blooms are lime green. 
Other Notes & Uses: Echinacea work well in borders, perennial beds, annual flower gardens, and even containers. Excellent for water-wise gardens; excellent for cut flowers (long-lasting).
