German chamomile is an annual, and grown for its soothing nature in teas and other products. The daisy-like flowers should be harvested when the petals are no longer flat, but arch backwards. Harvest the apple-scented flowers, remove the leaves and stems, and allow to dry. Store in a tightly-sealed glass jar. Can be used to make tea, in addition to perfumes and hair rinses. German chamomile grows very quickly and reseeds easily. It's a wonderful choice for containers and hanging baskets, too.
