The Florenza variety of sunflower has chocolate centers with mahogany petals and yellow tips.  The 4 to 5 inch blooms are produced on sturdy stems from multi-branched plants, making them ideal for cut flowers.  They have relatively low pollen for a longer vase life.  Great for pollinators with a subtle chocolatey fragrance.

Days to maturity: 70 - 80 days

Size: Grows 3.5 to 5 feet tall. 

Water: Medium (heavy feeder; will suck nutrients from other surrounding crops)

Sun: Full sun (6+ hours daily); very heat tolerant

Other Notes and Uses:  Will continue to bloom from summer into early fall.  Removing the main stem when the plants are 12- 18 inches tall will encourage side branches with long stems.  while the plant is bushier and shorter, pinching will delay flowering by one to two weeks.
