Helleborus orientalis - Lenten Rose got its name because it flowers during lent.  Lenten roses are easy to care for plants that comes in a variety of bloom colors.   and thrives in the shade. Flowers have a very long season, but once they have started to brown at the tips, they should be cut back to the base of the plant.  Add fertilize to enrich the soil and mulch to retain moisture.

Light: Best in partial to full sun.                                                               

Soil: Well-drained, humus-rich and fertile garden soil.
