From mid-summer to early fall, Hypericum presents with bright yellow star-shaped flowers with a prominent tuft of golden stamens quit prominently set off amongst the deep green leaves.  The flowers are followed by an emergence of light berries that mature to a bright salmon-pink and deep red color. The two great shows of flowers and berries add long-lasting color in the garden.   

Semi-Evergreen or Deciduous Upright Shrub

Size: 3-5 Ft Height; 3-5 Ft Spread
Light: Full to Part Sun.  Tolerates full shade.
Soil: Moist but well-drained
Water: Medium.  Drought tolerant when established.
Bloom: Mid to late Summer through Fall. Yellow flowers followed by red berries.
Other Notes: Hypericum is low maintenance, generally disease and pest free and deer resistant.  Easy to propagate with new growth semi-hardwood cuttings.
Uses: Boarders, rock gardens, slopes, hedges and naturalized areas.
