The 'albida' Tidy Tip sub specie is a slow growing, upright annual flowering herb found growing in both the western foothills of the Sierra's and the eastern foothills of the Central Coastal Range at the southern end of the San Juaquin Valley.  Its white flowers and limited distribution distinguish it from the platyglossa varieties of Layia, found throughout California in a number of different plant communities.
