Ledebouria socialis - 'Green Squill'

A small fleshy-leaved perennial ground cover native to South Africa with subtly leopard-print green foliage spreading from above-ground bulbs.  It can be grown as a houseplant, container or in a succulent or rock garden.  It produces small spikes of exquisite pink flowers in spring.  Frost sensitive.

NOTE: (We have 2 forms of this species this season - 'Silver Squill' and 'Green Squill'. The last photo below is for comparison.)

Size: less than 1 ft. height; slowly spreading further
Water:  Allow soil to nearly dry between waterings during growing season. Water very sparingly during winter dormancy.
Light:  Partial sun preferred.  
Other:  Best in temperatures above 60 degrees.  Requires cooler winter dormant period to bloom.  Toxic to pets if eaten.
