Blue Bedder is showy annual/biennial native to the Mediterranean with masses of cup-shaped violet blue flowers held on short spikes.   The flowers are nectar rich and very attractive to bees and other pollinators. The plants are easy to grow, tolerate most soils and are drought tolerant once established.  Deadheading extends the flowering for up to 4 months. Wear gloves when handling as the foliage may cause skin irritation.  All parts of the plant are poisonous and can be toxic to livestock.  Readily self seeds.
