Lunaria annua was introduced to England from Germany in the late 1500's, and then brought to America by the Puritans. The flowers and silvery seed pods are unusual enough to be eye-catching in your garden. If planted along the edge of other shrubs, the shining pods can catch the sunlight. This biennial will flower in its second year. It is an active pollinator when in bloom.
