Purple Muhlyis an ornamental grass that really shines in the fall when it blooms with pinkish purple tips. While native to Florida it makes a lovely alternative to the invasive Mexican Feather Grass. Composed of 2' mounds of narrow dark green foliage, purple muhly is topped in October and November with 40" tall dense plumes of reddish-purple cotton candy-like flowers. It is an excellent addition to a low maintenance garden because it is long lived, tolerates heat, humidity, drought, poor soil and is highly salt tolerant. Perennial
