Native to Coastal Oregon and California, Phacelia bolanderi is a low mounding, drought deciduous perennial with large attractively veined grape-like leaves and one-inch-wide soft papery purple, lavender or blue flowers.  With no summer irrigation, the leaves will die back and emerge with the first rains.  This is a short-lived perennial that often reseeds.
