The 'Sweet Pea Shrub' is a showy, fast-growing, evergreen, South African shrub that displays purplish-pink 2-winged petals reminiscent of the Sweet Pea flower. The compact shrub has a rounded growth pattern and grows to 3 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. . It will tolerate both dry conditions and frost, once established. This plant blooms reliably in the summer and fall, and usually throughout the year in our coastal climates.  It requires low to moderate summer irrigation and can be planted beachside.  Cut stems and flowers are great and last well in arrangements.
