 Arroyo Willow is widespread throughout northern, central and southern California found along moist roadsides, seeps and waterways.  This fast-growing upright winter deciduous willow flowers in winter and spring with yellowish catkins that turn into fluffy white masses of seeds.  In the garden, Arroyo Willow needs lots of water and can be trimmed in winter.  This and other willows provide abundant services for a wide variety of wildlife.

Light: Full sun

Soil: Most soil types as long as drainage is adequate.  Tolerates wet and standing water with slow drainage

Bloom: Yellow catkins in winter and spring
