"Pozo Blue" is a California native hybrid of S. clevelandii and S. leucophylla.  While not always easy to find, it will reward you as an easy-to-grow sage that provides tall, showy spikes of violet-blue flowers that are a hummingbird magnet. The beautiful  flowers and textured green leaves create an highly aromatic garden addition.

Evergreen – Summer semi-deciduous shrub
Zones:  Sunset 7-9, 14-24 
Size:  4’-5’ tall by 4’-5’ wide 
Light:  Full sun 
Soil:  Tolerates a wide variety of soils with either, fast, medium or slow drainage.
Water:  Low
Bloom:  Blooms late spring to early summer. Fragrant flower and foliage.  
Other notes:  Pozo Blue is deer resistant and attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, birds and is bee friendly.  This is one of the most adaptable of sages and is well suited to Coastal California.
Uses:  Popular choice for water-wise gardens, Coastal Gardens (tolerates salt spray), Native Gardens and Container Gardens in colder areas.  With some pruning in the fall, the next spring will provide a show of blooms.
