Salvia greggii 'Nuevo Leon', native of Texas and Mexico, is a sun loving heat tolerant salvia that needs little water once established.  Its spicey-scented green foliage sports spikes of deep violet-purple blooms with plum-tinged calyces from early summer through fall that attract beneficial insects, butterflies and hummingbirds. Low maintenance, do not cut back dead winter foliage until new spring growth emerges.
