Chlorogalum pomeridianum - 'Soap Plant' resembles a lily but is a member of the Agavaceae family.  Soap Plant is found in all of California and Southern Oregon except desert areas, it is drought-deciduous and generally loses its leaves in late Summer.  Flowering in late afternoon or evening, it is pollinated by evening and night flying insects.  The Soap Plant requires virtually no care.
