Trachelium caeruleum 'Black Night' has purple umbrella type 3 - 4-inch flower heads composed of tiny fragrant flowers loved by bees and pollinators from summer through fall.  Full sun in coastal areas but tolerates heat with partial shade inland.  The foliage is striking with dark leaves and purple veining.  Prefers loamy soil and average water.  Deadhead regularly for continuous blooms.  Makes an excellent cut flower.
