Tulbaghia 'Silver Lace' - Variegated Society Garlic

Striped white and blue-green, Variegated Society Garlic is indigenous to South Africa, naturalized in Tanzania and Mexico. The stems smell faintly of garlic, so use caution in placement. The delicate flowers grow in umbel-like clusters from early summer to autumn with weekly moisture. Many sources agree that the bulbs and leaves are edible and can be used as a mild substitute for garlic. The scent tends to repel deer and gophers.
